Polestar Servicing Explained: What Every Owner Needs to Know

Posted on the 16/02/2026

Understanding Polestar Servicing 🚗

Polestar vehicles are known for their performance, technology and electric innovation. But like any vehicle, regular servicing is essential to keep everything running smoothly.

At Corner Garage Volvo, we work with Polestar vehicles across the North West, including Preston, Blackpool, Fleetwood and Warton. Because Polestar shares its roots with Volvo, we have the experience needed to look after these vehicles properly.

Servicing is not just about ticking boxes. It is about protecting your investment and making sure your car performs exactly as it should.

What Is Included in a Polestar Service 🔧

A proper Polestar service covers far more than a quick check.

Here is what you can expect:

  • Full vehicle health inspection
  • Brake checks and servicing
  • Fluid level checks and replacements
  • Battery condition checks
  • System checks and updates where required

Even though Polestar vehicles are electric, they still have many components that need regular attention.

Why Regular Servicing Is Important ⭐

Some drivers believe electric vehicles require little or no maintenance. While they do have fewer moving parts, they still need routine checks.

Regular servicing helps:

  • Maintain performance
  • Improve safety
  • Prevent unexpected faults
  • Protect long term value
  • Keep systems running efficiently

Skipping services can lead to bigger issues later, which often cost more to fix.

Common Issues with Polestar Vehicles 🛠️

Polestar vehicles are reliable, but like any car, problems can happen.

Some common issues include:

  • Warning lights appearing on the dashboard
  • Electrical faults
  • Brake wear
  • Software related issues
  • General wear and tear

The key is catching these early before they develop into more serious problems.

The Importance of Diagnostics 💻

Modern Polestar vehicles rely heavily on advanced systems. That means diagnostics play a big role in servicing and repairs.

At Corner Garage Volvo, we use specialist equipment to:

  • Identify faults quickly
  • Check system performance
  • Reset warning lights
  • Ensure everything is working correctly

This helps us avoid guesswork and fix issues efficiently.

Choosing the Right Garage 🚙

Not every garage understands Polestar vehicles.

When choosing where to take your car, look for:

  • Experience with Volvo and Polestar
  • Honest and clear advice
  • High quality workmanship
  • A strong reputation

Drivers across Preston, Fleetwood, Blackpool and Warton choose Corner Garage Volvo because we offer all of the above.

How Often Should You Service a Polestar 📅

Service intervals can vary depending on your driving habits, but it is always best to follow manufacturer guidance.

If you are unsure, a professional garage can advise based on your vehicle and usage.

Regular checks give you peace of mind and help avoid unexpected issues.

Final Thoughts 💬

Polestar vehicles are built for performance and innovation, but they still need expert care.

Regular servicing keeps your car safe, reliable and enjoyable to drive.

If you are based in the North West, including Preston, Blackpool, Fleetwood or Warton, Corner Garage Volvo is here to help.

CAROL

Office Administrator

I’m the one in the background keeping everyone organised. I work part time but if you call, I might be the one booking your service or arranging a Volvo test drive.

I’ve worked here for a very long time and so I know the business inside and out, keeping an eye on all the paperwork, advertising, and social media.

SEAN

Mechanical Technician

I’ve been at Corner Garage for 25 years and tackled just about every issue a Volvo can throw my way. Whether you need a routine service, or a complex fault takes you off the road, I use my expertise to get you going quickly and safely.

We’re a friendly bunch so I’m not always hiding under a car. When you come in, you can meet the person working on your car, that’s me or Paul. And you’ll often find me speaking to customers, running diagnostics, or pitching in to get the job done.

PAUL

Diagnostic Technician

If one of those warning light flashes up on your dashboard, I’m the man you need. I’ve worked at Corner Garage for just over 10 years, working out your nagging car problems and fixing them.

I love working in a family run business, there are no targets like the big dealerships, what matters here is taking care of our customers. I’ve known some of our customers for years, and I’m always around for a bit of advice on their Volvo.

DARYL

Head of Garage

I took over Corner Garage in 2024, bringing my 35 years of experience in the motoring industry. Born and raised in Preston, I now spend a lot of time travelling the UK to source the best Volvos for our customers. When I’m not at the garage, I’m running Naze Lane Garage in Freckleton or acting as unofficial chauffeur for my kids.

I believe in doing things properly - no hidden charges, no dodgy cars, no pressure, and straightforward advice. I get a lot of satisfaction from finding high-quality cars and keeping them on the road.
